The next offering of CSE 131 will be in Spring Semester, 2012. Parts of the web site for Spring 2012 will be left live so that if you are thinking about taking 131, you can browse through the content from that term.
CSE 131 is a "hybrid course". Lab meetings of the course are small group, face to face meetings that focus on use of the computer tools to solve real problems. This type of course is called "hybrid" because part of it is on line but part of is live.
Jon Stiicklen is the faculty point of contact for CSE 131. If you have questions about 131, or want to ask more general questions about MATLAB, drop him a line at sticklen@msu.edu.
Dr. Sticklen's office hours for Spring 2012 are 8:30-11:00 am, in 1410 EB, Office C. There will be several times during the semester that I will be off campus on Tuesday mornings. Watch ANNOUNCEMENTS.
CSE 131 is an intensive course in technical problem-solving using computer tools. Students should count on 1.5 hours of work outside of class for each hour spent in class. In-class time per week is 80 minutes in lecture, and 160 minutes in scheduled labs.
Thus, you should plan on spending around 6 hours per week on CSE 131 outside the classroom.
